What Happened:

Katou: "Hey, where did you go? Mudou—‼ Setchan! I told him not to let go of my motherly loving hands— Damn it! I'm not going to go look for you—!" *thinking* "He doesn't have any weapons, so what if he runs into a ghoul… What am I thinking?! I have to kill him, that's the deal I had with those Enra old guys. Then I can go to Eden…! Yes, I won't do anything to my disadvantage. Didn't I live my life like that…?"

Voice: "Yes, you have no time to be confused."

Katou: *whirling around* "Who's there?!

Voice: "You can't forget. The pain when his sword penetrated your body, and the hatred when your future and life ended. There's no more time. Your spirit has reached its limit."

Katou: "!" *wires coming from his chest* "Ahh...!"

Voice: "Because that mask is on your face."

Katou: "S..."

Voice: "You'll be finished if you don't do something."

Katou: "Stop..."

*blah blah stuff with Setsuna and things end up with Setsuna hanging to a cliff and Katou is above him safely. Oh, and the wires are gone.*

Setsuna: "Katou?! What the hell, I was worried about you. Just a little Don't just stand there, pull me… up…"

Katou: *kicks Setsuna*

Setsuna: "Aaaaahhh!!"

Katou: *catches Setsuna by the wrist*

Setsuna: "Ouch! Are you crazy? Or are you serious?"

Katou: "Of course I'm serious. You'll die when I let go. 'Absorb Mudou Setsuna's powers and then kill him' was the deal I had with Enra-ou. That was the work I had to do to go to Heaven."

Setsuna: "Ka... Katou..."

Katou: *somehow manages to let go of Setsuna in a way that Setsuna has enough grip on the cliff to climb back up. meanwhile, Katou curls in on himself* "Wrong… I…! I…"

Setsuna: "Katou…?! Katou?!"

Katou: *clutching at his face* "Face…‼My face… So hot…‼"

Setsuna: "Katou…?! What are…"

Doll: "Ah, how foolish. For resisting the Mask. Once you are captured by the evil, unless the person dies, there's no way to take off the mask! The more you resist, the more power the mask will absorb, including your spirit. You'll only cause yourself more pain. Even though you are a spirit, it must still be painfull for your skin to be peeling off, right?"

Katou: *thinking* "There's nowhere to run. Now matter how I fight, there's no way to win. No matter how I struggle, just like before—"

Doll: "It'll only be more painful if you resist. Your face must be really hurt now. After that Mask gets on you, unless you die, you'll always be ♥ a doll under my control."

Setsuna: "Sara… Are you Sara?"

Doll: "'Sara'? Me? I'm Doll, just a puppet. The loyal servant of my master."

Setsuna: "Then that ring?"

Doll: "Oh this? It was given to me by my favourite person in the world. My master, the guardian of Hell's gate. He's a wonderful guy. And his name… Oh‼ That's a se-cr-et."

Setsuna: "Sa… Sara…?" *tries to touch her, but his hands pass through her*

Doll: "It's useless! My body… is materialized. Master gave me this body. Therefore, you can't touch me."

Setsuna: "You… look so like her… Are you really not Sara…?"

Doll: "Do we really look alike? …And you like that person. Then you… can't touch me because I just might be your Sara! I heard some interesting stuff! Mask-san, finish that guy."

Katou: *grabs Setsuna by the hair*

Doll: "Because it's almost tea time."

Katou: *tosses Setsuna roughly to the ground*

Setsuna: "! Hey! Don't you recognize me? Katou…‼"

Doll: "It's useless. He can only hear my voice now. The mask attaches to living things with evil thoughts… He's completely under its control. That is to be expected from a puny human, when he struck down the ghouls with his cross, he took their evils along with their powers."

Setsuna: "…What are you saying? I… didn't I strike down ghouls, too?!"

Doll: "You're different, you have enough positive power to relieve the ghouls, their negative influence was overcame. But not him. The more ghouls he killed, the more of their evil he absorbed. Soon, he will be taken by darkness. His spirit has been hurt by the negative influence to the point of breaking down. The Mask only reflects the situation. And his coat not only does not cover his energy, it gives off a wave that attracts the ghouls even more. All but screaming come and get me. I wonder who gave it to him? Were you tricked? How pathetic! But I'll end this now‼ Come! Evil thoughts‼ Awaken!"

*a swarm of ghouls bursts through Katou's chest, attacking Setsuna*

Setsuna: "AAAAAHHHH!"

Doll: *speaking into Katou's ear* "This is a good time to take out your rage! Isn't this what you wanted? Don't you hate him for killing you? Wasn't it painful? Yes‼ Do it!"

Setsuna: *grabs Katou's hand as he's about to stab him with the cross* "Damn…‼ That asshole Enra-ou…‼ He planned to have us fight each other all along…! Damn… him‼ Are we just insects?! Yes. You do have the right to hate me, and I won't complain even if you kill me… But this is wrong‼ If you wake up… and hate me with your own mind, I'll accept that! But… not like this‼ It's not like you to just accept this‼ Didn't you always hate to be treated like a fool!? What happened to that stubborn spirit? Isn't it your way to make them pay for making a fool out of you?"

Katou: *thinking* "It's useless. It's useless no matter how hard I try."

Setsuna: "Don't forget that you are a human‼ Don't be overcome by those thoughts‼ Don't give up‼"

Katou: *thinking* "When… Did I give up believing? Yes. I used to love, I believed that they would change, no matter how they kicked me, no matter how they beat me."

Setsuna: "This time, don't give up, believe in the possibilities…! Don't underestimate yourself! Don't run away! Fight it‼"

Katou: *thinking* "Fight it." *this flashback is triggered*

*another flashback* Setsuna: "So pathetic. Even if you are alive, you seem like you're dead." *end flashback*

Katou: "Heh…" *thinking* "You were right."

*flashback* Katou: "I'm not afraid of death. Forget it, it's all in the past." *end flashback*

Katou: "Hehehe..." *thinking* "The people who can't find the meaning of life have no right to die… "Forget it… the past…? What… What kind of an excuse is that?!" *the mask halfway shatters*

Doll: "I… Impossible…! Master's mask shattered…?! …U…useless! If the other half breaks off too, you'll vanish! Like I said, that mask won't disappear unless the soul disappears!"

Katou: "You don't have to keep on saying that… bitch! Ouch, it hurts…‼ I didn't think it was going to be as painful as death…‼ What's with you, Mudou…~ If you don't kill me, your power will be absorbed… and then you'll disappear! You can't do it…! You're always like that. But I'm different…‼ I will fight for myself, as I wish." *grabs Setsuna's hand, puts the cross in it, and stabbity in the heart* "…Just a little more… Now you can have your powers back. If this mask can only be taken off by death… Then I'll show them…!"

Setsuna: "…W…Why…?!"

Katou: "Idiot, everyone knows that. My death won't change anything. But don't you still have some things to do? You'll become my witness, tell those people…! As long as you try… believe in themselves…! Listen, don't overestimate yourself! I didn't do this for you! But at least now you won't forget me anymore… At least remember someone like me used to exist…" *thinking* "Yes… I was only picking on you. That's right, Mudou. Iactually I was so scared then— I didn't leave anything, didn't acomplish anything. I really was— so scared… I vanished meaninglessly, only if I realized that when I was living, no matter how pathetic, how embarrasing, I didn't want to regret it when I died… Right? Setchan…"

*his body dissolves into nothingness as Setsuna watches despairingly*

Setsuna: "Damn you…‼ You're so eccentric! You never thought about my feelings…‼ No… Don't go…! Don't go—‼"
